A hotel with nice garden and "waterfall": Heritage Cameron Highlands

This is how I would describe Heritage Hotel Cameron Highlands: a tudor-style hotel with nice garden and "waterfall" on a hill top.

The room with greenish and blueish decor
We stayed in a superior room at the old wing on the third floor and our room was located at the end of the wing. It was private but each time when we went out for meals or sightseeing, we had to walk for about a five minutes or more to get to the elevator (basement car park). There were actually two elevators at this wing. One was to the basement car park and another was to the lobby. If you parked your vehicles at the open-space car park which was just opposite the lobby, then you should take the lobby elevator.

By the way, the rooms on this floor were smoking rooms although we had requested for a non-smoking one. There were no more rooms on the non-smoking floor which I assumed was only one floor. However, throughout our two-night stay, we did not smell any cigarette smoke.

Our room had a long and wide entrance and the room was big. There was a bathtub with hot shower in the toilet. The room had a big balcony. You could even put two chairs and a small table out there to enjoy the cool breeze and peace. Although the room was not near the main road, we could hear the echo of rumbling vehicles passing by the road (which was visible from our balcony) once in a while. We had paid RM250 per night (with breakfast) and we thought it was well-spent.

The breakfast was average in term of taste and choices of food. However, we were not very fussy about it. It was a buffet breakfast for both days and the selection of food were almost the same. They included local nasi lemak, fried koay teow, English breakfast (toast bread, sausages, ham or bacon, fried eggs, baked beans, stir-fried potatoes/hash brown), Chinese porridge, bee hoon soup, salad, fruits, coffee, tea and juices. All were halal. We loved the Chinese porridge. The fried koay teow was too oily. Choose the outdoor seating if you love to enjoy the cool breeze and view.

The "waterfall" was not a waterfall. Whenever we walked past the corridor near to our room, we always heard water gushing sound. Yes, it was really loud and there were a few rooms facing this water feature. Some may love it but I would prefer a more peaceful room. So, this was the "waterfall". It seemed like guests were not supposed to go very near this water feature ( I think) because there was not proper entrance or path to this place. We were a bit adventurous as we had hiked from the garden to this place and later, to  get back into the hotel, we balanced ourselves on the side of the water feature to another small lobby on the other wing.

Well, there was a nice garden with a pond and gazebo for you to sit and relax. Check out the photo below! Actually, our room also had the view of this garden. But I had not seen anyone loitering there. So, it could be your private garden to enjoy if you are strolling in this garden.

Heritage Cameron Highlands also provide facilities like children playroom and a reading place. Next to the basement car park, they reared rabbits in a big cages. Children could see the rabbits up-close.

So, overall my rating for the room was 4/5 and the breakfast was 3/5.
