Here is a list of places/restaurants that we have tried over our three-day trip to Lumut and Sitiawan.
1. Bei King Restaurant
Address: Lot 35535, Jalan Kampung Selamat, Taman Desa Selamat | Jalan Raja Omar, Sitiawan 32000, Malaysia
This air-conditioned restaurant is featured in TripAdvisor. It is famous for its Fu Zhou / Hock Chew cuisine. Now, it is a hotel too. It has moved from its old location on the main road to Jalan Kampung Selamat. The new location is about 5-minute away from the old place.

They seemed to be a favourite restaurant for Chinese wedding. When we were there for lunch, we were told they were not opened for dinner that night because of three different wedding dinners held at their place.

The red yeast rice wine misua with chicken tasted good although the pieces of chicken were a little small and bony.

The sweet and sour fish maw soup was just right and the fish maws were very thick.

However, we did not like the stir-fried mixed vegetables because of the pungent bamboo shoots.

Well, we did not try their fried oyster but I thought it looked delicious. This place was basically bustling with crowd during meal time. The portion of food at this place was a lot for two people. It cost us in total RM 60 plus for these three dishes and a pot of chrysanthemum.
On the downside, I found the floor to be sticky and also there were flies everywhere. Besides, there was not much of ambience here.
2. Amu Coconut Villa Seafood Restaurant at Kampung Cina, Sitiawan
Amu actually means 'mom' in Chinese. It is a Chinese restaurant serving a plethora of fresh seafood. Here, you can see local Chinese families as well as tourists dining in.

The entrance is a bit hidden by the trees, so don't miss it |
The place was not air-conditioned. It was more like a coffee shop. The food we ordered were steamed clams (lala), stir-fried green vegetables (that came with three big prawns) and sweet and sour chicken. Thumbs up to all the dishes here. We just loved all the three dishes.

The price of food here was very reasonable. It was about RM 20 plus for the three dishes and drinks for two. We would definitely consider coming here again the next time.
3. King Yew Restaurant at Kampung Koh, Sitiawan
Location: somewhere opposite Lumut Waterfront Villa (before you reach Blue Bay Resort if you are coming from Lumut jetty)

This place served seafood too. We tried the fish as recommended by the boss. He told us that the fish was just caught that morning so it was a very fresh. So, we ordered the fish curry. It was the freshest fish we had ever eaten and it was cooked as we specified, i.e. not too spicy. We loved it.

The stir-fried kailan with pork was simple but delicious. The portion of the servings here was quite generous too. In total, it cost us RM 40 plus for food and drinks.

5. Liu Xiao Fu Dim Sum House (near to King Yew Restaurant at Kampung Koh)
|
Striking big blue banners: you won't never miss it. |
We did not dine in as we had just finished our late lunch at King Yew Restaurant. So, we only bought a piece of curry puff and ordered a packet of iced milk tea for our tea break. The home-made curry puff was good. If you love iced milk tea, this place has the best tea. It was so addictive to sip the iced milk tea. And we came back again the next day to buy the iced milk tea.
You may see many locals enjoying their afternoon tea and dim sum here or order to take away. We also had to wait in a queue to buy the curry puff.
