Healthy Strawberry Farm at Tanah Rata

Cameron Highlands
Ripe and unripe strawberries
Try picking your own strawberries? Well, Healthy Strawberry Farm in Cameron Highlands is one of the places that you can do so. Just by paying RM 25, you get to pick your own strawberries. The fun part is you can go hunting for strawberries at your own time. You are allowed to go into the farm with a partner to pick your own strawberries.

Useful tips:
1. If you want sweet strawberries, hunt for the bigger ones. The bigger, the better. Small ones are sour.
2. If you do not want to squash the strawberries, try putting 20 or less average to big strawberries) in that box.
3. Arranging the strawberries in the box is also a challenge. You need some skills here. As long as you can close the box with the strawberries in it, then it is okay. Otherwise, they will charge you extra.
4. I also noticed that there was a sign saying the strawberries here were seasonal. I forgot to ask when the season was. I guess July should be okay as I managed to get quite big ones.

Home-made strawberry ice pop
They also sell strawberry ice-cream here. However, it is below my expectation. A cup with three scoops of ice-cream and some strawberries costs RM5. I was disappointed when I was given a scoop of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry-flavored ice-cream. This is because I was expecting three scoops of strawberry ice-cream here. The strawberries in the ice-cream were sour. On the plus side, you can enjoy the view of strawberry farm while eating your ice-cream. It is a quiet and peaceful place to calm your nerves.

Potted plants for sale
Besides strawberries, this place also sells bonsai plants at a very reasonable price. A small potted bonsai costs only RM 15. There are small and colourful cacti for sale too.

Just at the entrance of Healthy Strawberry Farm, you will be able to see a Chinese elderly couple selling sweet corns. The price is six sweet corns for RM 20. The sweet corns are really juicy and tasty. Although they are more expensive than those sold in the night market, you really pay for the quality. I always come back for their corns each time I am in Cameron Highlands.

Location:
Healthy Strawberry Farm is situated opposite Sultan Ahmad Shah Golf Club at Tanah Rata.

On my second trip to the sweet corn stall, we bought some passion fruits from them. They were sweet and sour. (Updated 14 Dec 2012)
